About EM Ceramics:
By adding EMa and EM-X to the freshly prepared clay mixture, the clay is “inoculated” and can only ferment under swamp-like conditions.
What happens during this process?
The small amounts of organic matter naturally present in the clay—such as soil, humus, wood, or leaves—are broken down by the Effective Microorganisms (EM), which decompose these substances into their basic components. These components are then released into the clay, enhancing its material properties.
Experienced ceramicists know that the quality of clay increases significantly the longer it is aged: it becomes finer, more pliable, and much easier to work with. According to our potter, EM transforms the clay so positively that it behaves as if it had been aged for several years.
Through the breakdown of non-mineral components and the refinement of the clay mixture, the ceramic takes on a different density during firing—resulting in a higher energetic vibration. This not only improves the ceramic itself, but also has a positive effect on the food and drinks consumed from it. Many users believe that beverages taste better and that bread, sausage, cheese, and fruit stay fresh longer when stored in EM ceramics.

After the clay has been prepared, the glazes are also treated with EMa or EM-X, so that all surfaces that come into contact with food and drink carry the same beneficial properties.
